Hengtong has 70 wholly-owned companies and holding companies (some are listed on various Stock Exchanges: Shanghai, Hong Kong and Indonesia) with 11 manufacturing facilities based in Europe, South America, South Africa, South Asia and Southeast Asia. As well as sales offices in over 40 countries and regions around the world supplying products to over 150 countries. Hengtong Group is the largest Optical Fibre and Power Cable manufacturer in China and the seventh largest in the world. It is also in the top 2 largest Optical Fibre communication producers.

Established Qidu Communication Cable Factory.

1993
The year of 1993 saw the establishment of Jiangsu Hengtong Group, marking the company’s first step of going global.

The enterprise restructured in Oct. 1999 and renamed as Jiangsu Hengtong Optic-electric Stock Co., Ltd. from Wujiang Miaodu Optical Cable Co., Ltd..

A cooperation agreement with Japan's Fujikura was signed in 2002. The China-Japan joint venture lent new vigor to Hengtong.
