Hengtong Cable Australia has been awarded the cable supply for the Glenrowan Solar Farm to UGL. The Glenrowan Solar Farm is a 130MW solar project located 2km south-west of Glenrowan, in the Rural City of Wangaratta, approximately 230 kilometres north-east of Melbourne, Victoria. Hengtong will supply 30km of 33kV, 27km of Fibre, 15km of Earth and 248km of 1.5kV DC Subarray cables.

The location sits within Victoria’s Central North Renewable Energy Zone (REZ), one of six across the state supporting the Victorian Government’s Renewable Energy Target (VRET) of 50% by 2030 and the transition to a carbon-neutral future. Once in operation, the solar farm will supply renewable electricity to the national electricity market, generating power for approximately 45,000 Australian homes.
